Hong Fuyuan is a Chinese batik artist and pattern designer based in Anshun, Guizhou.

Since the 1960s, he has traveled through Miao and Buyi communities in Guizhou, studying traditional batik techniques and collecting folk patterns. Over decades of artistic exploration, he has developed a distinctive body of work that combines traditional cultural heritage with original artistic expression.

In 1973, he helped establish the Anshun Batik Factory, serving as its chief designer. In 1992, he founded his own batik art enterprise, continuing his work in artistic creation, pattern design, and traditional craft research.

His creations explore a wide range of subjects, including birds, butterflies, insects, fish, dragons, ancient bronze motifs, and historical imagery. He is particularly known for his intricate compositions, in which natural forms are transformed and combined into elaborate patterns that reveal unexpected visual relationships.

Hong has received recognition as one of China's Top Ten Folk Artists and has published books including Anshun Batik and The Art of Fuyuan Batik.

In 2017, a copyright dispute involving his work Harmonious Coexistence No. 12 was selected by the Supreme People's Court of China as Guiding Case No. 80, highlighting the legal protection of original artistic expression rooted in traditional folk art.
