A thermochromic oyster-eye artwork featuring temperature-reactive eye makeup that shifts in appearance with changes in temperature. The changing colors give the eye a mysterious, atmospheric presence, combining gothic ornamentation with surreal wearable art.

Made to order

Each AMETHYST TEARS piece is made to order and prepared individually after purchase. Production usually takes approximately 7–14 days before dispatch.
The photographs show the reference design. Your piece will follow the same design language, with its temperature-reactive eye makeup, dramatic lashes, faux pearl accents and decorative details.
As each piece is handmade using a natural oyster shell, the shell shape, surface texture, pearl placement and small finishing details may vary slightly from the photographs.

Choose your wear style

Select one of the four wear styles from the variation menu:
- Ivory Ribbon Choker: A pale ribbon choker with a soft, light frame.
- Black Velvet Choker: A dark velvet choker that frames the changing eye colors with a gothic contrast.
- Brooch Pin: A pin-back attachment for clothing and structured fabrics.
- Keychain Charm: A keyring attachment for a bag or keys.

Your selected attachment will be fitted as part of the making process. This listing includes one oyster-eye artwork with one selected wear style; the other attachment styles are not included.

Thermochromic color effect

The eye makeup uses temperature-responsive pigment, allowing its appearance to change with surrounding temperature or body warmth.
The color transition and its intensity depend on temperature and viewing conditions. The Warm / Cold comparison illustrates different appearances of the same design under different temperature conditions, not two separate pieces.

No batteries or electronics are involved.

The temperature-reactive eye makeup gives the piece a shifting, atmospheric quality, while the natural shell and hand-finished surface make each artwork individually distinctive.

Care

Keep dry and avoid harsh chemicals, open flame and extreme heat. The thermochromic effect is designed to respond to ordinary temperature changes; extreme heating should not be used to force a stronger color change.
Handle the shell, lashes and hanging details gently.

Packaging

Each Shell Oracle artist piece includes gift-ready packaging, a product certificate and an artist signature / signed card. The inner presentation is selected according to the finished size and shape of the piece.
